Truth in Reality is proud to announce Ayodele (Ayo) N. Roach as the newest member of our Advisory Council.
Ayo Roach is a foundation and grantmaking professional who is currently a Program Officer at the David Rockefeller Fund, a private family foundation that supports social, economic, and environmental justice issues. She oversees the Community Grants portfolio of more than 80 organizations in rural communities throughout New York State and in Maine and works on the Arts, Criminal Justice, and Environment grantmaking portfolios. Since 2005, she has also worked directly with Mr. Rockefeller on his personal charitable giving, administering the annual, major gifts, pledge and endowment grants portfolios to more than 200 organizations. She was a founding Board member of the Emerging Leaders in African Art at the Museum for African Art and the New Leadership Council at the International Women’s Health Coalition. She has also served as member of the Grants Advisory Committee at the New York Women’s Foundation and as member of the Young Professionals Committee at the Women’s Leadership Forum. A graduate of Spelman College, she currently resides in Brooklyn, NY.
Prior to her work in philanthropy, Ms. Roach spent ten years in the entertainment industry working in music, film, and digital media in various roles including production, marketing, and distribution. She currently serves as Board Chair of Soleil Global, an organization dedicated to reducing energy poverty in Haiti. She is Board Co-President of the Willie Mae Rock Camp for Girls and serves on its Executive and Finance Committees.
